A conversation about journalism and technology

briggs denmark

Mark Briggs coined the term Journalism 2.0 in 2006 when he was invited to write a book about digital literacy for journalists based on a training program he had created at The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash. Mark recently finished an updated version of the book, titled Journalism Next and published by CQPress in December 2009. You can find it on Amazon.com.

As part of his mission to help journalists transform in the digital age, Mark has served as a speaker, trainer and consultant for various projects around the U.S. and Europe.

He is also co-founder and CEO of Serra Media, a Seattle-based technology firm developing interactive platforms for local publishers. Serra Media's first product is called Newsgarden and you can read more about it here.

The book:

Journalism 2.0:

How to Survive and Thrive

A digital literacy guide for the information age. Available as a PDF download from the Knight Citizen News Network, this simple introduction to online journalism has been downloaded more than 190,000 times in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
